“The Sound of Music” is one of my favorite all time movies. I have fond memories of my mom taking me to see the movie when I was only 11 years old. I also love one of the songs, “My Favorite Things”, sung by the star, Julie Andrews. Another thought that comes to mind, as one of my favorite things, is the amazing clear view of the waters below me that I witness from the airplane whenever my husband and I have flown to the Caribbean. I have been known to tear up during those times; and even today, just visualizing the endless shades of blues and greens, too numerous to count, has the same effect on me. I’m so grateful for the clear vision of those waters with which God has blessed me. I don’t know why it always seems to surprise me every time to clearly witness the simple wiggling of my toes while standing in those healing waters. Unfortunately, it has been a while since we’ve travelled to my islands, and the crystal clear blue waters that I love have seemed to dim from my memory. Is it like that when we are not living a life following our Lord? Is our vision unclear because we insist on depending on ourselves, stumbling about for direction? Like the countless number of followers during Jesus’ ministry (and even up to the present) that have witnessed their eyes being opened, they know it’s all because of turning to Him. Will I ever clearly understand that the food that sustains me is Jesus, that my clear vision isn’t just through my eyes, and that my heart should be always tuned into listening to His voice? It comes down to one thing. If we walk with Jesus every single day, our vision will be as clear as the blue waters of the Caribbean, and as bright as the stars we witness against the black of night. By taking quiet time to pray, reading inspirational books like “Holy Moments” by Matthew Kelly, and sharing time with other fellow believers, you and I are sure to experience that clear vision that only our Jesus can provide. May your eyes be opened today to see clearly, down to your toes, that He is always walking with you. Amen!
“Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.” Mark 8:25

Donna,
Thank you for your suggestion to open our eyes and see more clearly. It has really helped me today with a matter that is hurting me. I have to see clearly that God has His plan in place. 🙏🙏
