Morning

There should be a golden rule that the word good be added to the beginning of the word morning.  Because every morning is good!  We have another chance to get it right every single day.  My husband and I are determined, again, (and again) to move more during our day.  With the hot summer days of Florida, it’s a must that we wake up and get an early start to our day.  So, we alternate days of walking 2+ miles and biking around 8 miles.  We pass new neighbors walking their dogs, driving to work or other destinations, and others out exercising just like us.  I always say, for some reason, “Morning!” and most reply in the same way.  I don’t know why I don’t say, “Good morning”, because that’s what it is.  No matter what any of us have in front of us that needs to be done, God has given us another day to use for His glory.  During our walk, it’s a good morning because I’m able to walk.  It’s a good morning because I have someone I love beside me to share the new day.  It’s a good morning because I am met along the way with nature, like the wild turkey that crossed our path this morning (yes, I did say turkey).  As a young person, I didn’t understand the miracle of waking up every morning.  I was too stressed, listening to our grandmother clock clang every hour during the night, saying “It’s only 2 more hours before you need to get up and get ready for school.”  Now, as a senior citizen, I appreciate my mornings a whole lot more.   The house is quiet and the small lake we overlook changes every single morning. With morning tea in hand, I watch the birds glide gracefully before my eyes, and gazing out at the still water, I witness the reflections change with each second as the world begins to light up.  Morning – a time for prayer, reflection and creating excitement for what you can be this day.  Thank you, God for this morning – yes, it is a good morning, isn’t it!

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”  Lamentations 3:22-23

  1. Good morning, friend! I had to smile reading this thinking of how often in my haste to write a text in the morning I look back and read “God” morning! Spellcheck never corrects – and it always makes me stop and give thanks for the reminder that, yes, it IS a God morning 😇

  2. It was very early Monday morning when I heard this email come in after not sleeping well at all.
I read the email & I felt as if it was only for me. I said good morning to God & asked Him to give me the strength & endurance to get through this busy day ahead of me as if I had gotten a full nights sleep. I constantly heard Him encouraging me as I completed everything I had to do. Thank you God for being here with me as if I was the only one on earth! Thank you Donna for listening to the Holy Spirit so this message would get to the people who needed it. Have a blessed day!
