I loved the sun as a child. My best friend and I, most likely in our bathing suits during the summer, would squeal with delight as we bounced back and forth from each of our little pools in our back yards or playing hopscotch and other games in our connecting alley. As I’ve matured (well maybe somewhat), I still choose the sun, always craving the warmth and light it provides. Who doesn’t love the sun? Although some of us may choose to avoid it, the fact remains that there are unending benefits the sun provides each of us and that we may sometimes forget or take for granted. Fact #1: Our solar system has only one star called the sun and it is that sun that warms our earth. Fact #2: Although you and I cannot reach out and touch the sun, we feel its warmth from 93 million miles away. Fact #3: Our sun is critical to our wellbeing on this earth. To mention a few, it supports better sleep, uplifts our mood, increases our energy, and can extend our life expectancy. The sun also provides nourishment for our bodies through plant life and other food sources. Without the sun’s heat and light, life on Earth would not exist. Even when the sun is not visible on dreary days, it is still there, working behind the scenes, continuing to provide for us. But what about the spiritual benefits of what the sun provides for you and me. Many times, as the sun warms my face, I feel its magnetic pull and connection deep within. It’s not only warming my outer skin but my inside – my very soul. It calms me and takes me to a different level in my connection to things that matter so much more – the Son! Imagine that – all we need to do is change one letter and all of the above facts are the true connection to what provides our energy, can increase our mood, warms our soul; and although we cannot reach out and touch Him, He is there, the Son of our most high God!
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11

Donna,
You brought the sun to the Son! I love this how you did this.
God bless you,
Fran
