I love reading inspirational stories about people that have been healed. I also know it’s frustrating when you pray unceasingly for healing for someone you care about or ourselves, with no noticeable results. But the earthly definition of healing and God’s definition don’t even come close. However, I do have a story…. It all started at Toys R Us! (I must add, this is a true story.) My husband and I were in one of their stores in Pennsylvania, looking for a bicycle we intended to donate to charity during the Christmas holidays. The bicycle we needed to choose was for a specific age and we were both unsure what size would be a match. Trying to decide over quite a few bikes, my husband spied a man with his young daughter, who looked about the approximate age. Then something happened – my husband actually asked the man how old his daughter was and explained why he was asking. (I say this only because he never would normally ask a stranger for help.) After discussing the bicycle selection, this man asked my husband if he had a problem with his shoulder. Not favoring his painful shoulder in any way that someone would have noticed, he was surprised this man had asked. My husband answered, “Yes, as a matter of fact I do.” In fact, he said he was at the point of making an appointment for the doctor. The man then asked a simple question, “Are you a believer?”, to which my husband replied, “I am.” “May I lay my hand on your shoulder,” the man continued? The answer was in the affirmative, at which time the man did as he had asked. At this point, my husband relates to me that He felt something go through him, as the man prayed over his shoulder. After that short encounter, we all went on our way. My husband, to this day, believes that man, through the power of God, healed his shoulder, since he has never had a problem since. He was a witness to being healed! You may have a powerful story of your own to share with others. Don’t be silent! We read about the numerous stories of Jesus’ healings and maybe think that it just happened back then or maybe it’s just a story – an exaggeration or a fairytale. Healings happen every single day, many times unfortunately without us even realizing it. It may be a healing of our heart, a simple acceptance of a new normal we must live with or a healing of a relationship. We may wait and wait, pray prayer after prayer with what we think are unanswered prayers. But God heals in His timeframe, in His own way and for what best suits His plan for us, regardless of the how and when. Let us never stop believing in the power of God’s healing and never take for granted that He loves each and every one of us. Yes, you!
“And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all.” Luke 6:19

Donna,
I love that you said that “God heals in His time frame, in His own way and for what best suits His plan for us”. Something we need to remember when we pray for healing of ourselves or others🙏🙏. Wonderful reminder!
Thank you,
Fran
