I pray that you had a blessed and holy Easter! In addition to celebrating the Easter season until Pentecost, we are also coming alive with our Springtime season. One of the more anticipated seasons, not just because Jesus has risen and is alive; but because creation is waking up all around us. The days are longer, giving us more light, the earth is thawing out from winter, and nature is in full bloom for most of us.
I find much satisfaction as I sit here gazing at my flowers that I planted last year and am now witnessing them in full bloom. Amazing and bold colors of pinks, purples, yellows and whites showing off their glory to anyone that wants to take notice. Then I think about the changing seasons when it comes to our earthly lives. What season do you find yourself in? Spring is all about new life; summer is the warmth of the sun, full of fun and activity; when our fall arrives it’s about appreciating a different beauty with the changing colors and slowing down of time (or maybe it seems to pass quicker). And then comes winter.
Depending on how we view this time – cold and dark or a time for celebrating and appreciating our time to rest and reflect from all the seasons we’ve been blessed to experience, is our choice. Are we looking forward to the next part of our journey or are we looking backwards with regrets? If you’re a believer like me, we know it’s in the strength and depth of our faith. Faith that we lived all our seasons well and there is nothing but joy in knowing we’re safe in Jesus’ arms, being watched over and loved by Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Just as our calendar keeps track of the seasons with regards to weather, so does our Lord, who knows all our comings and our goings. So, whatever season you are in currently, live your life well, full of joy, and taking each step of your journey with purpose towards the only One that matters. Thank you, Jesus for creating all our seasons with purpose. Let me embrace each one with faith, gratefulness and love!
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
