– It seemes a strange word to focus on this week, right? Call me crazy, but I kept feeling this prompting to open my bible to any random page and blindly point to a word. At first, I ignored it; but this little nudge in my mind wouldn’t leave. So, my feet carried me to our bedroom, where I took a deep breath, staring at our family bible that is always displayed. I obediently took several pages in my hand, landing on another section, trusted and pointed. The word my finger landed on was feet. “Why was that word so important and where do I go with this,” I thought? Well, our feet take us to wherever we need to go – to the store for food, to church to pray, to gather with friends and family and so many other short and long journeys that we take for granted.
Many years ago, I remember I was having trouble with both my feet that ultimately required surgery. Where many times a doctor would have suggested doing one at a time, for some reason it was decided otherwise. Well, I have to say, although the surgery was a success, the recovery was challenging. When you realize you can’t plant both feet on the floor, even to just stand, without pain, it’s a little frightening and challenging. The good news is my feet healed, and I was able to walk again, without assistance too!
Our feet take us in many so many directions because of the choices we make. But if you and I don’t keep focused on praying for Jesus to guide us, we may head in the wrong direction. With the free will we have been given, our feet can carry us towards destruction, ill feelings, cross words, and hurtful actions. However, by keeping our feet walking with Jesus, we will enjoy the fruits of His love and ultimate glory. You will proclaim, “He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.” (Psalm 18:33) Or you will be able to understand, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
I think what Jesus wants you and me to understand is that we need to pay attention to where we are going. Yes, our feet can take us anywhere, but our heart is what moves our feet. If our heart belongs to Jesus, it will truly take us in the right direction. I pray this week that we’ll all pay more attention to the direction that our heart is telling us to listen to. I did, by walking to our bible.
“Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.” Proverbs 4:26

Donna,
I was having a hard time with “Feet”. I love the last paragraph especially “our heart is what makes our feet move.” Then I remembered a prayer that I pray everyday, The Unity Prayer. The first line is, “May our feet journey together.” Why I didn’t remember that right away, I don’t know, but everything feel in place,
Thank you,
Fran♥️🙏
