Hold

As I begin my prayer time on this partly sunny day, there was something simple but eye-opening, when I read the Psalm verse, “you hold me by my right hand.”  So much so, that I stopped reading and felt the need to just sit quietly envisioning Jesus holding my hand.  It is amazing to me that right now, His fingers are wrapped around mine – MY hand, just as they are wrapped around your hand as you read this.  Stop, like I did, for a moment (or longer) and just feel His spirit rest on you and feel the warmth of His fingers.  Something that may seem, to some, insignificant.  However, you and I know it isn’t.  The power that we feel in always realizing that Jesus is actually holding our hand through our journey makes me understand how blessed I am to have Him as my guide.  Maybe when we’re going through our day, He is tugging on our hand to move more towards Him or answer a prayer for someone in need.  And maybe there are quite a few times that His hand is wrapped around mine a little tighter, encouraging me to stop, wait, be patient and just trust.   Many times, we forget or take for granted Jesus’ presence each day.  We look to others around us for answers on direction on where and how to proceed but forget that the all the answers are wrapped around our right hand, encouraging us, guiding us, and sometimes just stopping us at a crossroad or two in our lives.    I thank God for reminding me again and again to never take for granted His words as the ultimate truth for living a life that He chooses for each one of us.  Can you feel Jesus holding your right hand?  I pray that you never let go.  I know he won’t! “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.  You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.”  Psalms 71:23

  1. Donna,

You have no idea how much this is helping me today. All I can say is thank you for reminding me that Jesus is holding my hand and will help me.
